Jim Essian had 4 hits as the Houston White Sox defeated the California Cubs in
12 innings by the score of 4 to 3 at Wrigley Field.

The score was tied at 3 after nine. Houston came out the victor in the 12th

stole second with some aggressive base running. Houston continued their
aggressive style with another stolen base. Essian stepped in and he drew a
walk. Oscar Gamble struck out, unable to help the rally. Overall Houston
out-hit California 14 to 10.
