Marty Pattin allowed Stephen Roman to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete
game as the Kansas City Expos defeated the San Francisco Yankees by the score
of 12 to 3 at Yankee Stadium.
 
Dave Cash enjoyed a big day at the plate.  He caught a hold of a bad pitch for
a Grand Slam homerun in the 1st inning and slapped a base-hit in the 3rd
inning.  Kansas City rapped out 16 hits for the afternoon.  
 
The winning pitcher was Pattin(1-0) who allowed 3 runs for the game. Ed
Halicki(0-1) was the losing pitcher.  He allowed 6 runs and 5 hits in 1/3 of
an inning.
