One run was the difference at Tiger Stadium as the Detroit Reds put 4 runs on
the scoreboard in the 6th inning and defeated the San Francisco Yankees 8 to
7.
 
It was a good day for Detroit thanks to Ron Leflore.  He doubled in the 2nd
inning and cleared the bases with a Grand Slam homerun in the 6th inning.
San Francisco proved to be no trouble in the 9th.  
 
Jim Crawford(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. Steve
Foucault earned the save, his 1st.  Gary Lavelle(0-1) was the loser in
relief.  He was knocked around, surrendering 4 runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
