At Oakland Coliseum the Atlanta Athletics were battered 10 to 3 by the Kansas
City Expos.

Kansas City jumped on top to stay in the top of the 5th inning scoring 2
runners on 3 hits. The key at-bat was by Tony Perez who deflated the spirits
of the home town crowd when he doubled bringing home two baserunners. Kansas
City had 13 hits for the night while Atlanta had 9.

Steve Rogers(2-1) got credit for the victory, pitching 7 and 2/3 innings and
allowing 3 runs. The loss was charged to Rick Langford(0-2). While he was
the losing pitcher, he still struck out 7 batters in 4 innings.
