complete game and right fielder Reggie Smith had 2 base hits as the Milwaukee
Dodgers defeated the Philadelphia Indians by a score of 4 to 3 at Dodger
Stadium.

In the 4th inning Milwaukee scored 3 runs when they came up with 5 base hits.
They would hold up as the winning runs. Philadelphia made it exciting in the
9th, but they were unable to push the needed runs across.

Hooton(2-0) got the victory, allowing 3 runs for the game. Larry
Christenson(0-1) suffered the loss. He allowed 9 hits and no walks in 7
innings.

'We just made a lot of mistakes, mostly mental,' Greg Grover said. 'It's bad
enough when the other team beats you, but when you start beating yourselves,
that's really bad.'
