The Baltimore Pirates toppled the St. Louis Twins by a 7 to 3 score at Busch
Stadium.
 
St. Louis was unable to claim the lead after Baltimore went ahead in the top
of the 4th inning with 2 runs utilizing 2 base hits.  After two were out
Eddie Murray began the rally when he drew a walk.  Bill Robinson stepped up
next and he doubled, and an error was also committed.  Willie Stargell then
doubled.  Baltimore had 13 hits for the afternoon while St. Louis had 9.
 
The victory went to John Candelaria(1-2) who went 7 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Candelaria got help from Rich Gossage who was credited with his 5th save.
Bob Forsch(1-1) ended up with the loss.  He pitched 7 innings giving up 9
hits and 3 walks.
