Left fielder Larry Biittner slammed 2 homeruns and had 3 RBI at Wrigley Field
where the California Cubs beat the Detroit Reds by the score of 7 to
4.
 
Biittner enjoyed a big evening at the plate.  He cracked a solo homerun in the
2nd inning and clubbed a two-run home run in the 4th inning.  California
finished with 9 hits in the victory.  
 
Paul Hartzell(2-1) went 6 and 2/3 innings allowing 4 runs for the win. Willie
Hernandez preserved the game for Hartzell, recording his his 1st.  Tom
Seaver(3-1) was the loser.  He gave up 3 runs and 2 hits in 4 innings.
