Left fielder Cliff Johnson knocked 2 homeruns as the Houston White Sox bested
the St. Louis Twins 5 to 4 at Comiskey Park.

Houston took the lead for keeps in the bottom of the 4th inning scoring a
single run. Johnson lofted a solo-blast 'downtown'. St. Louis had a chance
in the 9th but they came up short.

J.R. Richard(2-2) allowed 4 runs in 7 and 1/3 innings, and picked up the
victory. Lerrin Lagrow earned his 3rd save. Buddy Schultz(1-1) was hit with
the loss.

Paul Long was clearly disappointed after the game. 'It was a manager's
nightmare out there', he said, 'We should have had this one.'
