First baseman Willie McCovey had 3 base hits as the San Francisco Yankees
defeated the Philadelphia Indians 9 to 5 at Cleveland Stadium.
 
San Francisco won the game with a rally in the top of the 8th inning when they
tallied 4 runs on 4 hits.  The highlight belonged to Terry Whitfield who
helped quiet the crowd when he doubled scoring two baserunners.  For the game
San Francisco out-hit Philadelphia 10 to 6.
