Nolan Ryan mowed down 13 Milwaukee batters as the California Cubs topped the
Milwaukee Dodgers by a score of 5 to 4 at Wrigley Field.

Ryan(1-3) was in control of the game from the outset. He allowed only 5 hits
and 7 walks in 9 innings. California finished with 9 hits in the victory.

Jim Slaton(0-3) ended up with the loss. Robert Latorre was upset after the
game. 'I don't like to complain but did you see that umpires strike zone?',
he said. 'Maybe they ought to start calling the strike zone the way it's
printed in the rule book.'
