One run was the difference at Busch Stadium as the Philadelphia Indians
defeated the reeling St. Louis Twins 6 to 5.
 
Philadelphia scored the deciding run in the top of the 9th inning.  Jay
Johnstone doubled.  After an out was recorded, Johnny Grubb stepped up to the
plate and he slapped a single.  Greg Luzinski then drew a walk.  Philadelphia
had a total of 7 hits for the game.  
 
The win was credited to Warren Brusstar(2-1) who went 2 innings allowing 1
run. Gene Garber was credited with his 4th save.  Clay Carroll(1-2) suffered
the loss in relief.  He pitched 1 and 2/3 innings allowing 3 hits and 2
walks.
