Jose Cruz hit a homerun and had 2 RBI as the Houston White Sox topped the San
Francisco Yankees by a score of 2 to 1 at Comiskey Park.
 
Houston scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 8th inning plating 2 runs
on 2 base hits.  After an out was recorded, Cliff Johnson started the rally
when he doubled.  Cabell proceeded to steal third base.  Cruz then clubbed a
two-run home run.  Lerrin Lagrow was perfect in relief and gained credit for
his 4th save.  
 
J.R. Richard(3-2) went 8 innings allowing 1 run for the victory. The losing
pitcher was Ed Figueroa(1-1).  He surrendered 7 hits and 1 walk in 8 innings.
