Third baseman George Brett had 4 hits and 2 RBI at Olympic Stadium as the
Kansas City Expos, running on all cylinders, ripped the Boston Mets by a
large 12 to 2 margin.
 
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Brett.  He doubled in the 1st inning, tripled which scored a run
in the 3rd inning, doubled in the 5th inning and smacked a single scoring a
run in the 6th inning.  Kansas City finished with 15 hits while Boston ended
up with 6.  
 
Marty Pattin(2-1) was the winner allowing 2 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Nino
Espinosa(0-2) ended up with the loss.  He allowed Kansas City 6 runs in 4
innings of work.  
 
Wth the win Kansas City now has a record of 6-9.  Boston has a record of 8-8
after the loss.
