Nolan Ryan allowed Chris Hackett to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
as the California Cubs defeated the Houston White Sox by a score of 6 to 4 at
Wrigley Field.
 
Houston was unable to claim the lead after California went ahead in the 7th
inning plating an isolated run utilizing 2 base hits.  California banged out
10 hits on the afternoon.  
 
Ryan(2-3) lasted until the end allowing 4 runs for the win. Rick Rhoden(2-1)
was tagged with the loss.  He saw his ERA jump from 0.66 to 2.18 as gave up 5
runs in 7 innings.  
 
The California ballclub's record now stands at 9-10. With the loss Houston now
has a record of 11-8.
