Second baseman Ted Sizemore homered and had 3 RBI as the Philadelphia Indians
clobbered the outmatched Atlanta Athletics, 13 to 3.
 
Atlanta fell behind quickly as the Philadelphia offense came through in the
first inning scoring 2 runners on 1 hit.  The big moment was provided by
Garry Maddox who disappointed the partisan crowd when he banged out a single
scoring two baserunners.  Philadelphia had 17 hits for the afternoon while
Atlanta had 8.  
 
The victory was credited to Steve Carlton(3-0) who went 8 and 2/3 innings,
allowing 3 runs. Vida Blue(1-4) took the loss.  His ERA increased from 5.73
to 6.67 as he allowed 6 runs in 5 innings.
