One run was the difference at Busch Stadium as the Atlanta Athletics defeated
the St. Louis Twins 5 to 4.
 
Atlanta won the game with a run in the 9th inning.  After an out was recorded,
Mitchell Page stroked a one-base hit.  Page took off for second and slid in
with a stolen base.  Barry Bonnell then singled.  After another out, Wayne
Gross was next to bat, but he was a strikeout victim.  Atlanta had a total of
11 hits for the game.  
 
Dave Giusti(1-0) got the win allowing no runs in 1 inning. Dave Campbell
preserved the game for Giusti, recording his his 2nd.  The loss was charged
to Butch Metzger(0-1) in relief.
