The Texas Padres nipped the Kansas City Expos 3 to 2 at Olympic Stadium in a
hard fought contest.
 
Texas started with a bang, jumping out to an early lead in their half of the
first plating an isolated run.  The Kansas City offense proved no trouble in
the bottom of the 9th.  
 
The victory went to Gaylord Perry(3-2) who went 5 innings, allowing 1 run.
Dave Tomlin got the save, his 1st.  Fred Holdsworth(0-2) was charged with the
loss.  He got hit hard, allowing 8 hits and 4 walks in 5 and 2/3 innings.
