First baseman Carl Yastrzemski left the yard and had 5 RBI at Fenway Park
where the Boston Mets beat the Milwaukee Dodgers by the score of 15 to
12.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Yastrzemski. He doubled scoring two baserunners in the 1st
inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 2nd inning and laced a base-hit
plating a run in the 5th inning. Boston kept the scorekeepers busy in the
1st inning when they had 4 runs on 5 hits and the 5th inning which saw them
score 5 runs on 3 hits. Boston banged out 17 hits on the afternoon.

The win was credited to Paul Siebert(1-0) who went 1 and 1/3 innings allowing
2 runs. Skip Lockwood got the save, his 6th. Lary Sorensen(0-1) suffered the
loss in relief. It was a tough loss for him as he did not allow an earned
run in his 1 inning of work.
