The Philadelphia Indians got by the Detroit Reds in 10 innings at Tiger
Stadium.  The final score was 6 to 4.
 
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings.  Philadelphia won the game in
the 10th inning.  After an out was recorded, Bake McBride got things going
when he became the sole author of the rally when he cracked a bases-empty
home run.  Bruce Bochte came next and he laced a base-knock.  After another
out, Davey Johnson stepped in and he doubled.  Greg Luzinski was up next and
he was walked intentionally.  Detroit had 13 hits in the game while
Philadelphia had 7, but Philadelphia had the more timely hits.  
 
Ron Reed(2-1) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 3 innings. Gene Garber
preserved the game for Reed, recording his his 5th.  Fred Norman(2-4) was
tagged with the loss.  
 
With this win, Philadelphia has a 14-12 record. They have been 6-4 lately.
With the loss, the Detroit ballclub's record is 17-10.
