Nolan Ryan allowed Chris Hackett to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
and Bobby Bonds touched them all and had 3 RBI as the California Cubs topped
the ice-cold Kansas City Expos by a score of 7 to 1 at Wrigley
Field.
 
California took the lead for good in the bottom of the 5th inning when they
tallied 2 runs on 2 hits.  The highlight belonged to Don Baylor who made the
California fans a happy lot when he blasted a two-run home run.  California
had a total of 11 hits for the game.  
 
The win was credited to Ryan(3-5) who went the whole way allowing 1 run. The
losing pitcher was Fred Holdsworth(0-3).  He was touched for 3 homeruns in
