21,511 fans were treated to a fine game at Busch Stadium as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end.  The St. Louis Twins won by the
slimmest of margins, 3 to 2.
 
The game was deadlocked at 2 after nine full innings.  St. Louis came out the
victor in the 10th inning.  Dan Ford doubled.  After an out was recorded,
Butch Wynegar came to bat and hit a single making St. Louis the winners and
sending the 21,511 fans home happy.  Both teams finished the game with 8
hits.  
 
Butch Metzger(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 3 innings. The
loss was charged to Grant Jackson(0-1) in relief.  With this win, St. Louis
has a 15-16 record.  They have been 6-4 lately.  With the loss Baltimore now
has a record of 16-13.
