WEB GEMS- Top 3rd: George Hendrick robbed Dwight Evans of a Homerun!

The Texas Padres had an easy time of it at Jack Murphy Stadium defeating the
Boston Mets by a score of 9 to 4.

Gene Tenace made sure the Texas fans enjoyed themselves. He emptied the bases
with a Grand Slam homerun in the 3rd inning and delivered a one-base hit in
the 6th inning. Boston had 9 hits in the game while Texas had 6, but Texas
had the more timely hits.

The win went to Gaylord Perry(6-2) who allowed 3 runs in 6 and 2/3 innings.
Jerry Koosman(6-2) was tagged with the loss. He was knocked around pretty
good, giving up 5 runs in 2 and 2/3 innings.

Texas continued their winnings ways improving their record to a league leading
22-11. They are 8-2 in their last ten games. With the loss Boston now has a
record of 17-15.
