George Brett smashed 2 homeruns and scored 5 times at Olympic Stadium where
the Kansas City Expos beat the Detroit Reds in 10 innings 15 to 14.

The game was deadlocked at 14 after nine full innings. Kansas City won the
game in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Brett ripped a single.
Al Cowens stepped up next and he lined a single. Gary Carter then would
ground out making Kansas City victorious to the delight of the the home town
crowd. Kansas City bats were very productive in the 3rd inning which saw
them score 5 runs on 4 hits and the 7th inning when they had 4 runs on 4
hits. A wild and woolly affair, this game saw the lead change 6 times.

Bill Atkinson(1-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 2 innings. Pedro
Borbon(0-3) was given the loss in relief.
