Right fielder Bobby Bonds went yard and had 2 RBI as the California Cubs
defeated the St. Louis Twins by the score of 6 to 4 at Wrigley
Field.
 
California scored 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning when they had 5 base
hits.  The key at-bat was by Bonds who thrilled the crowd when he smashed a
two-run homer.  California managed 12 hits in their victory.  
 
Willie Hernandez(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 2 and 1/3
innings. Hernandez was helped out by Bruce Sutter who recorded his 4th save.
The losing pitcher was John Urrea(4-1).  He was hit hard and gave up 12 hits
and 4 walks in 7 and 2/3 innings.
