George Foster touched them all and had 3 RBI and Tom Seaver allowed Randy
Newman to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game at Dodger Stadium where
the Detroit Reds beat the Milwaukee Dodgers 6 to 3.

Detroit scored 4 runs in the decisive 7th inning when they came up with 4 base
hits. The key at-bat was by Foster who quieted the home crowd when he
smacked a three-run homer. The Milwaukee batters didn't put up a fight in
the bottom of the 9th.

Seaver(8-3) was the winner allowing 3 runs for the game. The losing pitcher
was Tommy John(3-5). He gave up 12 hits and no walks in 6 and 1/3 innings.
