Larry Hisle blasted a homerun and had 3 RBI as the St. Louis Twins topped the
Detroit Reds in 10 innings by a score of 5 to 4 at Busch Stadium.
 
Both teams were tied at 4 runs apiece after nine innings.  St. Louis won it in
the 10th inning.  Butch Wynegar drew a walk.  Ken Reitz came to the plate and
laid down a sacrifice bunt.  Garry Templeton then lined a single making St.
Louis the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.  St. Louis had 12
hits for the game and Detroit had 7.  
 
Rawly Eastwick(1-0) picked up the victory, allowing no runs in 1 inning. The
loss was charged to Mario Soto(3-1) in relief.  He pitched 2/3 of an inning
giving up 1 hit and 1 walk.
 
St. Louis now has a record of 19-21.  With the loss Detroit now has a record
of 24-17.
