Steve Carlton was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game as the Philadelphia Indians defeated the Boston Mets by a score
of 8 to 4 at Fenway Park.

Bake McBride was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he
provided much of the offense for the visitors. He belted a three-run homer
in the 2nd inning, doubled scoring a run in the 3rd inning and lined a single
in the 7th inning. Philadelphia totaled 15 hits on the afternoon.

The win went to Carlton(7-1) who allowed 4 runs in the game. The losing
pitcher was Fergie Jenkins(3-5). He got hit pretty hard, allowing 7 hits and
2 walks in 2 and 2/3 innings.
