Frank Tanana went the distance at Wrigley Field as the California Cubs,
running on all cylinders, ripped the Texas Padres by a large 11 to 1
margin.
 
California brought 5 runs across the plate in the 2nd inning when they had 3
base hits.  That was all the runs Tanana(8-2) needed.  California finished
with 11 hits in the victory.  
 
Doyle Alexander(6-4) took the loss. California now has a record of 23-21.
With the loss, the Texas ballclub's record is 27-15.
