Jim Slaton delivered 9 solid innings and Cecil Cooper had 3 base hits and 2
RBI at Dodger Stadium where the Milwaukee Dodgers beat the Houston White Sox
6 to 2.
 
Houston was unable to climb back into it after Milwaukee went ahead for good
in the bottom of the 6th inning plating an isolated run on 2 base hits.  Ron
Cey delivered a one-base hit.  Robin Yount followed next and he grounded into
a double play.  Joe Ferguson then ripped a solo home run.  Slaton struck out,
unable to help the rally.  Milwaukee banged out 11 hits on the night.  
 
The win went to Slaton(4-4) who allowed 2 runs in the game. Joe Sambito(4-3)
ended up with the loss in relief.  He was knocked around, surrendering 4 runs
in 2 innings.
