One run was the difference at Comiskey Park as the Houston White Sox defeated
the Boston Mets 6 to 5.
 
The game was won by Houston with a run in the 8th inning.  After an out was
recorded, Jorge Orta reached on an error.  One out later, Oscar Gamble came
up and he slapped a one-base hit.  Brian Downing then stroked a single.
Downing took second on the throw.  Richie Zisk followed and he was walked
intentionally to load the bases.  Overall Houston out-hit Boston 12 to 7.
 
The win went to Joe Sambito(5-3) who allowed no runs in 2 and 1/3 innings.
Bill Campbell(2-1) was the losing pitcher in relief.  He pitched 1 and 2/3
innings and surrendered 4 hits and 2 walks.
