Steve Carlton struck out 11 batters and left fielder Greg Luzinski hit 2
doubles as the Philadelphia Indians defeated the St. Louis Twins by the score
of 6 to 2 at Cleveland Stadium.

Carlton(8-1) delivered a fine performance for Philadelphia. He went 8 innings
and surrended up 8 hits and 2 walks. Philadelphia totaled 9 hits on the
night.

Bob Forsch(1-4) ended up with the loss. Greg Grover was asked about the
performance of Carlton, 'He had his good stuff out there tonight. The fans
really get into it when the strikeouts start mounting up - and that seems to
give him even more adrenalin.'
