The Baltimore Pirates nipped the Houston White Sox in 11 innings 8 to 7 at
Three Rivers Stadium in a hard fought contest.

The game was deadlocked at 7 after nine full innings. Baltimore won the game
in the 11th inning. Dave Parker stroked a base-hit. After another out, Bill
Robinson was next to the plate, but was promptly struck out. Doug Decinces
then smashed a bases-empty 'big-fly' making Baltimore the victor and
beginning a joyous home town celebration. Overall Baltimore out-hit Houston
16 to 12.

Kent Tekulve(2-1) was the winner allowing no runs in 1 inning. Bo
McLaughlin(0-1) was the losing pitcher in relief. He gave up 1 run and 3
hits in 2 and 1/3 innings.
