One run was the difference at Fenway Park as the Boston Mets defeated the
Philadelphia Indians in 10 innings 6 to 5.
 
The score was knotted at 5 after nine innings.  Boston won the hard fought
contest in the 10th inning.  After two were out Carlton Fisk cracked a solo
homerun giving Boston the victory as 30,984 happy fans celebrated wildly.
Boston had 14 hits for the game and Philadelphia had 10.  
 
The victory was credited to Bill Campbell(3-1) who went 2 innings, allowing no
runs. Gene Garber(1-2) absorbed the loss in relief.
