Atlanta Athletics won a dramatic crowd-pleaser over St. Louis Twins at Oakland
Coliseum pulling it out in their last at bats, 2 to 1.
 
The game was won by Atlanta with a run in the 9th inning.  After an out was
recorded, Marty Perez drew a walk.  Jeff Burroughs stepped up to the plate
and he drew a walk.  Mitchell Page then delivered a single resulting in an
exciting win for Atlanta and a raucous post-game celebration by the home town
fans.  The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
 
The win was credited to Bob Lacey(2-1) who went 1 inning allowing no runs.
Butch Metzger(1-4) was hit with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 1 hit and
2 walks in 1 and 1/3 innings.
