Dock Ellis allowed Rick Daberkow to rest his bullpen, tossing a complete game
at Three Rivers Stadium as the Houston White Sox lost a heartbreaker to
Baltimore Pirates by the score of 5 to 4.
 
The game was won by Baltimore with a run in the bottom of the 9th inning.
After an out was recorded, Pat Kelly stroked a one-base hit.  Bill Robinson
came next and he doubled.  Willie Stargell then ripped a base-hit resulting
in an exciting win for Baltimore and a wild post-game celebration by the home
town fans.  Baltimore had a total of 12 hits for the game.  
 
The winning pitcher was Ellis(6-4) who allowed 4 runs for the game. Joe
Sambito(5-4) took the loss in relief.  He gave up 5 hits and 1 walk in 1 and
2/3 innings.
