Don Sutton went 10 solid innings as the Milwaukee Dodgers bested the Texas
Padres in 11 innings 3 to 2 at Jack Murphy Stadium.
 
Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings.  Milwaukee came out the
victor in the 11th inning.  Ron Cey drew a walk.  Robin Yount followed and he
slapped a one-base hit.  Yount got a great jump and stole second easily.
After an out was recorded, Dan Thomas stepped up to the plate and he was
walked intentionally to load the bases.  Davey Lopes stepped into the box and
hit a deep fly.  Milwaukee rapped out 8 hits for the afternoon.  
 
The victory was credited to Sutton(8-4) who went 10 innings, allowing 2 runs.
Sutton got help from Elias Sosa who earned his 4th save.  The loss was
charged to Adrian Devine(0-2) in relief.  He surrendered 2 hits and 3 walks
in 4 innings.
