WEB GEMS- Top 10th: Merv Rettenmund robbed Steve Garvey of a Homerun!

George Hendrick hit a homerun and had 3 RBI at Jack Murphy Stadium where the
Texas Padres beat the Milwaukee Dodgers in 14 innings 8 to 5.

The game was deadlocked at 5 after nine full innings. Texas ended up winning
it in the 14th inning. Juan Beniquez led off and keyed the rally when he hit
a single. After an out was recorded, Sandy Alomar stepped in and he singled.
Alomar took second on the throw. Toby Harrah then drew a walk. Hendrick
came up and he lofted a three-run 'big-fly' giving Texas the victory and
sending the 13,660 home-town fans home happy. Texas banged out 11 hits on
the night.

The victory went to Rollie Fingers(3-1) who went 3 innings, allowing no runs.
Elias Sosa(2-2) was charged with the loss in relief.
