Richie Hebner launched 2 homeruns as the Philadelphia Indians defeated the
Boston Mets by the score of 8 to 2 at Fenway Park.

Hebner was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided
much of the offense for the visitors. He lofted a solo-blast 'downtown' in
the 4th inning, stroked a single in the 6th inning and smashed a solo-shot
out of the park in the 8th inning. Boston was out-hit by Philadelphia, 15
hits to 7.

The victory was credited to Steve Carlton(9-1) who went 8 innings, allowing 2
runs. Bill Campbell(3-2) took the loss in relief. He was touched for 3
homeruns in his 2 innings of work.
