WEB GEMS- Top 9th: Fred Lynn robbed Cecil Cooper of a Homerun!

Tommy John took a no-hitter into the 7th inning as the Milwaukee Dodgers
defeated the Boston Mets 4 to 3 at Fenway Park.

John(5-7) gave a fine effort for Milwaukee. He went 8 and 1/3 innings
allowing 6 hits and 2 walks. The left-handed John lost his chance for a
no-hitter when Lenny Randle doubled with one out in the 7th inning. Boston
tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

Mike Garman recorded the save, his 2nd. Jerry Koosman(8-4) was tagged with
the loss. Despite losing Dale Keener was optimistic after the game. 'We'll
get over this one. Sometimes the breaks fall your way, sometimes they don't.
Any one of a dozen little things go different, and we come out on top.'
