18,590 fans were treated to a fine game at Comiskey Park as only one run
separated the combatants at game's end. The Philadelphia Indians won by the
slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.

Philadelphia came up with 3 runs in the 6th inning. The big moment was
provided by Greg Luzinski who quieted the crowd when he rifled a three-run
blast. Houston tried unsuccessfully to come back in the 9th.

The win went to Larry Christenson(4-5) who allowed 3 runs in 7 innings.
Christenson got help from Gene Garber who was credited with his 10th save.
J.R. Richard(7-7) was the loser. He gave up 4 hits and 2 walks in 7 innings.

Terry Cochran was subdued after the ballgame, 'That one really hurts. If our
guys had simply played more fundamentally sound, we could have won that one.
That is what really ticks me off!'
