Left fielder Oscar Gamble cracked a homer as the Houston White Sox topped the
Philadelphia Indians in 10 innings by a score of 5 to 4 at Comiskey
Park.
 
The score was knotted at 4 after nine innings.  Houston was victorious in the
10th inning.  After two were out Bob Watson doubled.  Jorge Orta followed
next and he was walked intentionally.  Eric Soderholm then ripped a single
making Houston the victors to the delight of the home town faithful.  Houston
rapped out 11 hits for the night.  
 
Jack Kucek(2-0) got credit for the victory, pitching 1 inning and allowing no
runs. Tug McGraw(2-2) ended up with the loss in relief.  He surrendered 1 run
and 2 hits in 2/3 of an inning.  
 
Wth the win Houston now has a record of 29-29.  With this loss, Philadelphia
has a 7-3 record of late, 30-27 overall.
