Graig Nettles ripped 2 homeruns at Yankee Stadium where the San Francisco
Yankees beat the Baltimore Pirates by the score of 7 to 5.

San Francisco had 4 runs cross the plate in the 5th inning when they had 4
base hits. The key offensive moment was provided by Lou Piniella who brought
the crowd to their feet when he caught a hold of a fastball for a Grand Slam
homerun. Baltimore threatened in the 9th but San Francisco was able to put
down the rally.

The win went to Ed Figueroa(3-8) who allowed 5 runs in 8 innings. Figueroa got
relief help from Gary Lavelle who gained credit for his 6th save. John
Candelaria(5-6) suffered the loss. He allowed a few too many baserunners
giving up 9 hits and 2 walks in 6 innings.
