Ben Oglivie connected with a 'big fly' and had 4 RBI and Jim Palmer pitched a
complete game as the Baltimore Pirates topped the Detroit Reds by a score of
13 to 8 at Three Rivers Stadium.
 
Oglivie had a good day at the plate.  He cleared the fences for a two-run home
run in the 2nd inning and delivered a one-base hit which was good for two
runs in the 5th inning.  Baltimore banged out 13 hits on the afternoon.
 
Palmer(6-2) allowed 8 runs on the game. Fred Norman(3-6) absorbed the loss.
He served up 4 gopher balls in 4 innings.
