Tommy John hurled a 5 hitter and shortstop Robin Yount had 4 hits and 3 RBI at
Jack Murphy Stadium as the Milwaukee Dodgers beat the Texas Padres in 11
innings 4 to 2.

Both teams had scored 2 runs after nine full innings. Milwaukee came out the
victor in the 11th inning. Sixto Lezcano led off the inning for Milwaukee
when he drew a walk. Don Money came to the plate and laid down a sacrifice
bunt. Chet Lemon then ripped a base-knock to load the bases. Yount followed
and he delivered a base-hit. Two outs later Ted Martinez stepped up to the
plate and he lined a single. Joe Ferguson got his turn next, but he was a
strikeout victim. Texas went down without a fight in the bottom of the 11th.

John(7-7) got the victory, allowing 2 runs for the game. Adrian Devine(1-3)
took the loss in relief. He gave up 3 hits and 1 walk in 2/3 of an inning.
