Rick Reuschel was able to finish what he started and was credited with a
complete game and first baseman Don Baylor hit 2 doubles and had 3 RBI as the
California Cubs defeated the Kansas City Expos by the score of 7 to 5 at
Olympic Stadium.
 
Kansas City was unable to claim the lead after California went ahead in the
2nd inning scoring a single run utilizing 2 base hits.  After an out was
recorded, Reuschel doubled.  Jerry Remy stepped up to the plate and he
tripled.  Steve Ontiveros dug into the batters box next, but he struck out.
Both teams finished the game with 9 hits.  
 
The winning pitcher was Reuschel(4-5) who allowed 5 runs for the game. Doug
Bird(2-3) absorbed the loss.  He surrendered 9 hits and 3 walks in 7 innings.
