In an great finish the Houston White Sox won in dramatic fashion over the
California Cubs by a score of 3 to 2 at Comiskey Park.
 
Houston scored the winning runs in the bottom of the 9th inning plating 2
runs.  Terry Puhl led off and keyed the rally when he drew a walk.  Two outs
later Eric Soderholm came to bat and lifted one out of the park for a two run
home run making Houston victorious to the delight of the the home town crowd.
Both teams totaled 6 hits on the night.  
 
Joe Sambito(9-5) allowed no runs in 1/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. Bruce Sutter(0-2) was tagged with the loss in relief.  He allowed 1
hit and 1 walk in 1 and 2/3 innings.
