Don Sutton carried a no-hitter into the 6th inning and third baseman Ron Cey
cracked a homer and had 3 RBI as the Milwaukee Dodgers defeated the Baltimore
Pirates in 10 innings 6 to 4 at Dodger Stadium.

Both teams were tied at 3 runs apiece after nine innings. Finally, Milwaukee
prevailed in the 10th inning. Steve Garvey led off the inning for Milwaukee
when he stroked a base-hit. Dusty Baker stepped into the batter's box and he
drew a walk. Chet Lemon got his chance to keep things going, but he went
down on strikes. Cey stepped in and he lofted a three-run bomb resulting in
an exciting win for Milwaukee and a wild post-game celebration by the home
town fans. Milwaukee had 10 hits for the game and Baltimore had 6.

Elias Sosa(3-3) allowed no runs in 2/3 of an inning, and picked up the
victory. The right-handed Sutton lost his no-hit bid when Al Bumbry homered
with two outs in the 6th inning. Rich Gossage(1-4) suffered the loss in
relief. He gave up 3 runs and 2 hits in 1/3 of an inning.

With this win, Milwaukee has a 37-32 record. They have been 4-6 lately. Even
with the loss, Baltimore still has a nice 8-2 record in recent weeks. They
are 42-26 on the season.
