In a great finish the Baltimore Pirates came back in the top of the ninth and
held on to win over the Milwaukee Dodgers by a score of 7 to 3 at Dodger
Stadium.

Baltimore won the game with an offensive outburst in the top of the 9th inning
as they erupted for 7 runs on 5 hits. The crucial at-bat was provided by
Bill Robinson who silenced the stadium when he smacked a three-run homer.
The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 8th inning.

Jim Palmer(8-2) picked up the victory, allowing 3 runs in 8 innings. Jim
Slaton(5-7) was tagged with the loss. He allowed just 4 runs and 5 hits in 8
and 1/3 innings.

Slaton was feeling apologetic in the locker room, 'I sure let that one get
away. What a miserable feeling to let the guys down; and our fans. One
minute things are looking great, then. BOOM, it's over with! I just hope I
get a chance to redeem myself real soon!'
