In an embarrassing outing for the Kansas City Expos pitching staff, Boston
Mets flexed their collective muscle amassing 12 runs as Jon Matlack(5-6),
with relief help from Paul Siebert, surrendered 3 runs to Kansas
City.
 
Matlack had a solid outing for Boston.  He allowed 5 hits and 1 walk in 7 and
1/3 innings.  Matlack struckout 8 Kansas City batters.  Boston had 12 hits
for the night while Kansas City had 6.  
 
Marty Pattin(3-7) suffered the loss.  He allowed 9 hits and 4 walks in 3
