The Kansas City Expos ripped Boston pitching mercilessly for 14 runs in the
8th inning and had very little trouble at Olympic Stadium downing the Boston
Mets. The score was 14 to 4.

The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by George Brett. He ripped a base-hit in the 1st inning and caught
a hold of a fastball for a Grand Slam homerun in the 8th inning. Kansas City
banged out 14 hits on the afternoon.

Don Stanhouse(2-2) went 2 innings allowing no runs for the victory. Bill
Campbell(3-3) was hit with the loss in relief. He allowed 5 hits and 3 walks
in 1/3 of an inning.
